Skilled Nursing

Our Nursing Staff is one of the largest and most experienced homecare staffs around. As technology progresses, homecare nurses are able to do a larger variety of care in the comfort of your own home. Here is a sample of what our nurses can do for you:

  • Wound Care Including Wound V.A.C. Therapy (Certified Wound Care Nurse on Staff!)

Home Health Aides

Our Home Health Aides have gone through our extensive training program and must be checked off on numerous skills before being allowed to make visits to our clients. They continue to learn and gain more job knowledge by attending mandatory learning sessions throughout the year. This Caring group of Home Health Aides can help you with the following and more:

  • Grooming
  • Checking your vital signs
  • Oral Hygiene

  • Transferring
  • Ambulation
  • Range of Motion
  • Skin Care
  • Bed Positioning
  • Feeding
  • TED Hose
  • Wound / Ostomy / Catheter Hygiene
  • Assist with Blood Sugar Checks
  • ACE Wrap Application

Physical Therapy

Circle of Friends is one of the only agencies in the state to staff a full time Physical Therapist and full time Physical Therapist Assistant. Our therapist work hard to help clients regain and maintain the physical abilities necessary to function at their highest level within their own home. Don’t battle the weather and other obstacles trying to get to your therapy appointment, let our superb therapist come right to your home to help you rehab! Some things our PT staff can help you with are :

  • Post surgery rehab. This is one of our specialties and includes knee, hip and other joint replacement surgeries
  • Development and implementation of a home exercise program or range of motion program to regain strength and mobility
  • Use of modalities such as Electrical Stimulation and Ultra Sound for pain relief
  • Functional mobility skills including gait training and transfer training
  • Orthotic or prosthetic fitting & training
  • Fall recovery & prevention

Occupational Therapy

The OT Staff at Circle of Friends works hard to get clients back to their prior level of function and help maintain their independence at home. They work on improving everyday living activities with clients after they’ve had a setback due to surgery, stroke, injury or weakness due to illness. Our OT staff can help with:

  • Upper extremity exercises and strengthening
  • Helping clients with improved decision making
  • Coordination exercises
  • Wheelchair adjustments and fitting wheelchair to client
  • Use of modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultra sound
  • Adaptive equipment if needed

Speech Therapy

Speech therapist assist clients with issues such as cognitive changes, swallowing difficulties and trouble with remembering or enunciating words. ST is helpful in cases such as complications following a stroke, worsening dementia, brain injury or other illness affecting these functions. ST can help clients with these issues by:

  • Performing facial massage
  • Teaching mouth and voice exercises
  • Performing swallowing test and exercises

Medical Social Services

Circle of Friends strives to provide care that encompasses social and economical factors affecting the health care of our clients as well. Although not required by Medicare, we choose to rise above the minimum requirements by staffing an experienced Social Services staff to help our clients reach their maximum health care goals. Some of the important services our Social Services staff can assist with are:

  • Educating clients about available community resources
  • Assistance with financial aid and funding sources
  • Patient advocacy
  • Coordination of multiple services to meet all health care needs
  • Assistance & Education regarding advance directives and living wills

Waiver Services

Circle of Friends provides services for 5 different Medicaid Waiver Programs. The five waivers we service are the Brain Injury, Physical Disability, Elderly, Ill & Handicap and Intellectual Disability Waivers.
