Hospice volunteers ready to serve
Chariton Herald-Patriot

Twenty-seven new Hospice volunteers have recently completed training with Circle of Life Hospice, and are ready to serve our community.

The training focuses on many of the difficult issues and topics encountered by those going through a terminal illness. Guest speakers included Pastor Don Hayes, John Pierschbacher of Pierschbacher Funeral Home, and Linda Neer from the local R.S.V.P. program. These guest speakers offered knowledgeable insight to further educate the volunteers. The completion of this training will enable these volunteers to help patients and their families maintain a high quality of life during the final stages of a terminal illness.

The following individuals have donated their time to complete the 14 hours of training required by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals: Joanna Anderson, Kathy Anderson, Tyler Arensdorf, Roberta Baker, Virginia Clarkson, Charles Crane, Pam Decker, Nicole Dixson, Billie Hendee, Missy Johnson, Patty Kohlman, Gerry Lacey, Kathy Mathes, Mary McCall, Emery McDonald, Davidene McDonald, Jodi McDonald, Sherry McDonald, Kaye Lee Nelson, Roy Nelson, Vera Peterson, Kelly Reed, Linda Reida, Janice Relph, Diana Risbeck, Amanda Schroeder and Jake Schroeder.

Circle of Life Hospice will soon be state certified and these volunteers will play and integral part in helping make a difference in our community.
