Our Executive Staff
Emery McDonald
Emery is Co-Owner, Business Administrator and Hospice Chaplain. Prior to opening Circle of Friends he spent over 30 years in retail management and also owned a gift shop in Jefferson, IA. Emery is also a licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He is a native of Chariton and was thrilled to have the opportunity to move back home in 2001. He likes to be outdoors doing about anything, trying new restaurants and is a great singer.
Sherry McDonald

Sherry is Co-Owner and Assistant Nurse Administrator. She received her RN Degree from Mercy College of Health Sciences. Sherry has previous nursing experience in hospitals and long term care facilities. She also has worked in retail management and co-owned the gift shop with Emery. Sherry enjoys reading, quilting and loves Mexican food.
Amanda Schroeder
Amanda is the Nurse Administrator and is responsible for overseeing the every day clinical aspects of the agency. Amanda earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2001. Before moving to Chariton she worked at Olathe Medical Center in pediatrics, urology and the cardiac step-down unit. Amanda loves shopping, spending time with family and singing at church.
Jake Schroeder
Jake is the Billing and Marketing Director. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2000. Prior to moving to Chariton he had a sales internship with the Kansas City Royals and worked in retail. Jake likes watching sports, golfing and fishing and hanging out with friends and family.
Diana Risbeck
Diana oversees the Social Services Department. She is a huge asset to our clients with her indispensable knowledge of community and state resources. She coordinates waiver services, medical equipment, hospice volunteers, bereavement needs and numerous other duties for our patients and their families. She received her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University and has been in social work for 10 years. She loves visiting her grandchildren and heading to the city.
